I’ve always been creative, but I never accepted it as a pillar of my existence until I was an adult. I began sewing using materials I could find at thrift stores, marketplaces, garage sales, and from family and friends. I started to make more things with materials from thrift stores and ebay. I fell in love with the practice of creating a three dimensional, utilitarian sculpture from materials with their own histories and stories to tell. I fell in love with using things I made.

I am heavily influenced by my childhood in rural America. All dirt, grease, rust, blisters, and vices when chores are done.

DOG TEETH was born while thinking about resistance, capitalism, and exploitation in industry, and what I could do in my own life.

I source, design, make, take photographs, create social media content for, list, and ship everything I make. We should be caring about our waste, production, and the way materials are left lost in the world. I believe we can and should reuse these things and imagine new, interesting, and functional purposes for materials and goods.

I really am just a person teaching myself different trades and approaches; attempting to reclaim something as a common man. I believe in self-sustainability, the working class, community integrity, the right to repair, and taking seriously the damage done by corporations pumping out junk and riddling the planet with their filth. Everything is made by me at a wooden workbench.

They say Don’t Bite the Hand that Feeds You, but why not? I think the state wants us scared and unwilling, but this is the home of the brave, no?

Every piece made is a tooth to bite back.
